What’s Under Your Dress? | Bridal Lingerie
on 09/09/2013  by Guest Author  has No Comment

Attention ladies and brides-to-bes, your wedding day undergarments can make or break your wedding look! Of course you want your lingerie to look pretty for your wedding day, but it also needs to be functional. You’re in for a long day and the last thing you need is to be stuffed into uncomfortable, ill-fitting lingerie that quits the day well before you do. If you want to avoid this problem, read on, so you don’t make the same mistake some of us made on our wedding days.

Longline Bra

Longline bras are fantastic for brides who are wearing mermaid or strapless gowns. They offer support and shape without squeezing you like a sausage casing. Although longline bras can be found nearly everywhere, we recommend going to an establishment that is able to professionally fit you and discuss the best options for your wedding day.

Shapewear

Brides who are walking down the aisle in sheath dresses should definitely pick up some shapewear, which will create a smooth silhouette without showing a definite line of demarcation where your underwear ends and the rest of the dress begins. You don’t need to invest in head-to-toe shapewear, but we recommend buying something that specifically targets and masks your trouble spots.

Garter

We’re suckers for a pretty garter, and even if the garter toss is persona non grata at your wedding, we don’t think there’s anything wrong with donning one and letting it be your little secret…  at least until your wedding night rolls around.

Cups And Seamless Underwear

Some brides can eschew bras and shapewear and everything else because all they need is a little help in the bust department. If this sounds like you, have your seamstress sew some (bust enhancing) cups into your dress and be on your way. Don’t forget to get some great seamless underwear though. We highly recommend the seamless underwear at Victoria’s Secret.

Now, we are going to divert from tradition before we close out. Your bridal undergarments do not need to be white. You can wear black, ivory, champagne, rose or go crazy and get hot pink. Wear whatever color you desire, and as long as it doesn’t show through your dress, you’re good. Now get out there and start shopping, girls!
